Data Direct

If you love data like I do, there is an interesting new website you might want to check out: swivel.com.  It's basically a flickr for data sets that lets you upload data, or download other people's data into spreadsheets and turn the data into charts.  People upload data sets on everything from temperatures measured from ice in Antarctica over the last 80,000 years to bankrupcty rates by state to numbers of shark attacks.

Here is a graph on sources of CO2 in Norway.

There are all kinds of other wacky graphs for data junkies from the (spurious) inverse correlation between wine drinking and violent crime--the omitted variable is the economy--to Apple's stock price compared with ipod sales--they track one another eerily.  Check it out at Swivel.com.
