Obama should attend the Beijing Olympics

He could meet many other heads of state. Visit China and other nations in Asia.  Begin to establish his credentials, not just as an American leader, but a global one, at what will be a truly important event of the early 21st century. 

What else would he be doing in mid August?  His 27th visit to a battleground state?

And if he goes, does this mean he should also find time to visit Europe and Latin America?
