Accelerating the Clean Energy Economy: Key Pathways, Policies, and Pitfalls

On June 29, NDN hosted a panel on the imperative of moving towards a clean energy economy and how this transition will take shape. Dan Carol, NDN’s Senior Fellow for Innovation and Clean Economy, moderated the discussion between Aimee Christensen of Christensen Global Strategies, NDN Green Project Director Michael Moynihan, and Dr. Robert Shapiro, Chair of NDN’s Globalization Initiative. Their lively conversation explored the financial and regulatory incentives for clean energy development, as well as the necessary legislative actions to put these incentives into place.

The discussion was particularly relevant in light of another event that day: a meeting between Obama and a bipartisan group of senators to discuss energy and climate legislation. NDN remains at the forefront of this debate, and continues to articulate both the goals of a green revolution and the paths to achieve it. Most recently, Michael Moynihan addressed the country’s inadequate electric grid in a paper on upgrading to Electricity 2.0. As the president and Congress work to improve our economy and energy security, be sure to check back for the latest from NDN’s Green Project.
