Event Summary:

The markets are falling, unemployment is rising, and the country’s most venerable financial institutions need to be bailed out. What are the next steps for our country, our government and our economy? With European and Asian markets following the United States in their slide, how can the world get back on its feet with continued faith in the American capitalist model? In this forum, NDN will take on these questions, and will look at how America can lead the world in responding to this crisis.

NDN is pleased to invite you to a special lunchtime forum with David Rothkopf, visiting scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and author of Superclass: The Global Power Elite and the World They Are Making. David will be joined by NDN Globalization Initiative Chair Dr. Robert Shapiro and NDN President Simon Rosenberg for a discussion on the future of America’s role as the economic leader of the world.

David has recently written an op-ed in the Washington Post called "9/11 Was Big. This is Bigger." and an article in the Daily Beast called "Even the Smart Guys Don't Understand the Meltdown."
